Starting a Neighborhood Network

We’re getting lots of requests for help in forming Neighborhood Networks. Volunteers are available to help you get started and, thanks to a grant, we can offer you lots of colorful fliers with helpful information that you can distribute to your neighbors.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to forming a Neighborhood Network.

Training Opportunities

Don’t miss out on these great classes offered by the City of Burlingame!

Get Ready - Every citizen in Burlingame is urged to take the two-hour "Get Ready" course offered by Central County Fire, to gain a basic understanding of how to prepare yourself, your family, your home and your workplace for a major disaster.  Admission is free. To register for the next class, call the Central County Fire Department at (650) 558-7600.

CERT Training - The Central County Fire Department also offers a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course. This comprehensive training will enable you to serve your community in the aftermath of a disaster, when emergency services are not immediately available. The skills you learn will also prove invaluable in assisting your friends and family during everyday situations. This 20-hour course is free. To register for CERT, call the Central County Fire Department at (650) 558-7600.
