The Emergency Planning committee, headed by Bill Ward, is responsible for integrate the Burlingame Neighborhood Network groups groups into the City of Burlingame’s emergency response plan. This includes defining the Neighborhood Captains’ role, developing Neighborhood Captains & integrating them within the City’s plan

Vision

By December 2012, the Burlingame Neighborhood Network will exist as a network of active neighborhood groups throughout the city of Burlingame that are integrated into the city-wide emergency response system and which can actively participate in a city-wide emergency drill or real response to natural or manmade disasters

Mission

BNN:  Educate, Connect, Prepare for a better community

Objectives / Goals

Identify and establish the (5) Neighborhood Command Centers (NCC) 
Define and disseminate a plan to integrate the BNN into the Regional ICS 
Define a protocol to communicate with the Emergency Operation s Center (EOC)
Define the role for Amateur Radio Operators in the emergency response plan
Define and disseminate the role of CERTs in the city’s emergency response plan

Strategies

Partner with CCFD to participate in city-wide preparedness drills
Meet regularly with CCFD Fire Marshall to develop the BNN integration plan
Work with city officials to define the NCCs
Work with Amateur Radio Operators to define the communications plan
Understand how the city would like or intends to utilize neighborhood groups
Understand and share the communications methods and protocols

 ActionPlans

Have an integration plan defined by June 2011 
Have the five Neighborhood Command Centers (NCC) identified by Dec. 2011
Have Amateur Radios Operators that cover all areas of the city by April 2012
Have the NCCs on-line and integrated by October 2012
